Procrastination 101: How NOT to be the 'pro' in procrastination.

I...have the shortest attention span ever. Okay, maybe not the shortest. But yes, I have a really short attention span. And I get super, duper, easily distracted by everything. And when I say everything, I mean everything. But! Fret not, for I have come up with ways that have helped me focus on what I'm doing and be more efficient in producing work.

1) Don't do your work in a place where you know you'll be easily distracted (i.e at home).

2) If you're like me and can't do 5 minutes of work without being distracted when you're not in the presence of others, then girl (or boy, if you're a boy lol), you need to go to the library or something right now! That really, really helps me concentrate a lot more when I'm doing work.

3) You could put your cellphone 1 mile away from you if you want, cause like they all say, out of sight, out of mind. But yeah, that just doesn't really do it for me as I'd get anxious and all without my phone LOL. But, what I'd do is put my phone either on airplane or do not disturb mode so that I don't get notified when I receive a text etc.

4) Put on some music! Use earphones. I don't know about you, but this kind of helps me block out the world. And I'd feel ONE with my academic essays, you know? In perfect harmony. Or something.

5) But obviously, if you can't do work while listening to music, then don't do it. Lol...

6) Set targets as to when you think you want to finish each section of the assignment by. However, if your assignment is due the following day, I suggest you don't even waste time setting targets and just dive right in. (Personally, I don't do this even though I know I should. But I just don't.)

7) Have some snacks ready to munch on while doing work! Unless you're fasting or are on a diet. But again, you could opt to consume foods that won't lead you to gain much weight or clog up your arteries and ultimately lead to an infarction or in other words, a heart attack.

8) Like Nike says, JUST DO IT.

Now, all that is left for me to do is follow my own advice and get right on with my marketing campaign analysis assignment now...

MASA TERBANG BEGITU LAJU WEIH.

Wow, how time flies. I remember feeling all pumped up about first day of orientation and now, we're already almost 4 weeks in. Oh, and just in case you guys are wondering...I'm having a great time in uni right now. I love hanging around with my bunch of not-so-sane girls and catching up with other friends in uni. Other than the fact that my Arts course has a crapload of reading, and I really do mean it, I think the content is all pretty interesting. :) I also started attending CF since week one, and I have no regrets whatsoever (despite the fact that I have to stay back after uni and wait forever 3.5-4 hours for CF to start). I love making new friends every week and I love how spiritually nourishing CF is, for me.

I've been managing my time considerably well (so far) but I hope I won't start to slack because...well this is only the beginning (HAHA.) and assignments are starting to pile uppp! Oh well. :(

On a brighter note. I finally got my driving license, haha. Partayyy! I hated driving lessons man.

Till next time, guys. I kinda miss blogging but I haven't really had the time to do so these past few weeks. Stay good, peepo! :D And remember to count your blessings!

Day 23: Things you've learned that school won't teach you

Our GPA doesn't determine our future.

Our academic performance does not measure our intelligence and self worth.

Once we're out of school, we're on our own. Noone's gonna spoon feed us any longer and we've gotta make decisions on our own.

Love is about giving; not receiving.

We need to learn how to love ourselves before we can love others; then only will we be able to love Him.

Teachers aren't always right. (Can I have an AMEN? Amen.)

Life is unfair. Sadly. But oh well,

Day 10: Most embarrassing moment (s). Spill.

So, this topic had been on my mind ever since day 1 but..it was just so flippin tough to think of that one EMBARRASSING (until can die) moment. I probably don't remember most of them because they were too embarrassing and I just repressed all of them bad memories hahaha, as a form of defense mechanism. LOL okay whut, Kimblee you're blabbering now.

Without further ado...this was the best I could come up with. Not dead embarrassing, but still pretty embarrassing to me..

#1

So, this was my band (that's me playing the drums) for the SHB House Music Competition. We were supposed to have a sound check the day before our actual performance. So we were just kind of chill and everything, playing our jam (We played LMFAO's Park Rock Anthem and also Queen-Somebody To Love) and doin' our thang you know...and then SUDDENLY, I was so chilled that like, the drum sticks just flew out of my hands while we were performing during our soundcheck and there were STUDENTS and TEACHERS there okay, it was embarrassing as heck. I quickly walked approximately 1.5m in front of the drums (HAHAH.), picked up my drumsticks and just acted as if nothing happened. (Y) Hah, way to go, Kimmeh.

#2

So I had a crush on this guy, A, when I was in standard 2; and I was really close to his best friend as well, B. B and I used to talk over the phone quite often then. One fine day, I told him that I liked A and I made him promise not to tell a single soul, and he said he would keep his promise.

THE VERY NEXT DAY...

A came up to me and said, "Kimberly, I know your secret". I was so embarrassed I hid under the desk. When I went back home, I said to B, "I told you not to tell anyone!" And what did I get as a reply?

"I promise I didn't tell anyone else! The only person I told was A"

Oh, wow.

Every ending is a new beginning

Graduation is over...now what?

When we SHB-ians were studying for our A level exams, our friends from other schools had already graduated from IB etc and we were just dreading it-having to see happy posts and pictures of friends graduating while our exams weren't even over yet. Lol. That felt like agesss ago! But on the 25th of June, we finally graduated! Wow 2 years have passed by just like that. I wish I had more time to spend with these lavlee people that I've met here but I guess life goes on. I'm sure we'd all still keep in touch though, whether through Facebook or whatsapp. :)

Now that I've already graduated, and I have slightly more than 3 months before I start Uni, I'm not exactly sure what I'd be doing with my life. Hahahha. I reckon I'd be spending my remaining time here in Bangkok with all my friends before we all go our own separate ways...oh wow, and I just had to make it all sound even more sad lol. Shrewsbury '13 has been as amazing year group and I'm glad I got to spend my last 2 years of senior high in SHB :) I've forged so many new friendships here and also had numerous first-time experiences! I shan't name them all here hahah. Anyways.

I wanna thank SHB 13 for making these past 2 years such a memorable one for me. Aishah, Eh, Praew, Kanita, Cindy, you guys are awesome and you guys are just mad. HAHA. We should've had more sleepovers lol. :P Thanks guys, for being so welcoming. You guys are pretty weird, so I feel at home <3 HEHE no offence guys. I still love you. :)) Thanks for always making my day with all your funny weird stories and strange dreams. And also laughing over absolutely nothing! LOL.

13DA, the best form group ever <3. Alex thanks for making my dull mornings more alive with all the crap you talk about. I actually think you're a genuinely nice guy though you are also one of the strangest people I know hahahha but that makes you awzum. ;) Mook and Neung, you guys have been great company and also such fun people hahaha I never get bored talking to you guys. :P

Samira, Noey, Majeed, Jenil and gang, it was great getting to know you guys hahah, being around you guys made me feel comfortable. And you guys kinda make me laugh too :P

Williams, you'll always be the no.1 house in my heart HAHHAA. I'm thankful for being given the opportunity to be involved in a few of the events especially the House Music competition. If not for that, I'd never have gotten to know some of you so well. Eh, SJ, Zach, Pinn and everyone else. You guys made music practices awesome. Bahahah I'd love to jam with you guys again someday. Also, thank you Por and Filippo for being a great house captain :)

There's so much to write about so many people but this post is getting a tad bit too long so...if I've not mentioned your name, don't feel sad. I love you all the same! Again, thanks for making school such a fun experience (lol, true story brah) and also thanks for making me a better person.
